Serve @ MPC

Manasquan Presbyterian Church is richly blessed with people having many talents and resources and all are invited to use their gifts for God’s glory through the ministry of the church. Please consider getting involved in the life of the church and explore the many opportunities. Come to worship, become a part of a group and explore the possibilities for service in the context of the growing fellowship.

Session Elders

In the Presbyterian Church, the governing body of the church is called the Session and its members are ordained Elders. Stated Session meetings are moderated by the Senior Pastor and Elders are charged with the administrative and the spiritual direction of the church under the sanction of the Book of Order (the Book of Order holds the same authority as does the Constitution for our nation). The function of the Session is to do the business of the church including making policy decisions, developing the annual budget, and monitoring investments.  Each Elder on Session serves on a committee and one Elder serves as the chair of a commission. Currently, we have 12 Elders, each serving a three-year term.

Deacons

The ministry of Deacon as set forth in the Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, sincere compassion and sound judgement should be chosen for this ministry.  If you are in need of Deacon services or would be interested in assisting with this ministry, please email the church office or call (732) 223-4627.

Lay Pastors

Lay Pastors are specially trained and commissioned pastoral leaders available for your support. They possess gifts of mercy and compassion that can be of great support to you or your family during times of illness or crisis. They also have a special ongoing ministry to those whose advanced age has kept them shut in. This ministry is a vital dimension of our pastoral care.  To communicate a need for this pastoral support or if you are interested in applying for Lay Pastor training, please email the church office or call (732) 223-4627.
