The First Presbyterian Church Preschool exists to help each child value themselves as unique individuals created by God and to help them develop trustful and loving relationships by emphasizing Christian values. Our primary purpose is to provide an array of opportunities for children to grow physically, socially, and emotionally, all within the framework of a loving environment and the support of dedicated teachers. By providing a warm and safe place away from the comfort of their own homes, each child is encouraged to learn more about themselves, to discover their gifts and capabilities, and to develop friendships with other children and interact harmoniously with them. Small classes, along with a varied curriculum, provide students with individual attention that is so important to their personal development.
The Presbyterian Church Preschool started in 1976 by two church members, Pat Richwine and Dottie Warren, who followed a vision; and after 30 years, the preschool remains extremely popular. The preschool is located on the lower level of the Christian Education Building next to the church. Each year we enroll approximately 100 children, ages three, four, and five years old. We operate from three classrooms which are large, bright, and conducive for a positive playing and learning experience. All of our teachers are state certified, and our preschool is licensed with a Life Safety Certification and abides by all the state requirements.
