Mission: Possible 2010

This is the chorus of a new song written by our own Bill Reinhard and Terry Rettig for Mission: Possible 2010. The title of the song is “Soul Food” and the tune is the familiar “Blessed Assurance”. Bill will be introducing the song on May 2nd and we will be singing it in its entirety. The congregation will also be singing the above chorus weekly throughout the month of May. Thank You Bill and Terry for writing such an amazing hymn! If you haven’t already marked your calendars, please do so now because the month of May at First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan will be hopping on Sunday mornings with a focus on Missions.
Highlights include:
- May 2nd- DVD of Dan Cotton (son of our own David Cotton) and his ministry in Panama.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19
- May 9th- DVD of Urban Promise, Camden. This will wet our appetites for the return of Dr. Bruce Main on Sept 26th.

- May 16th- Presentation by Emily Govel (member of our church) talking about her 2nd trip to Nicaragua for a short term mission trip this past March.

- May 23rd- On Mission: Possible Sunday, Dr. Darrell Guder will be our keynote speaker at all three worship services. This is a chance of a lifetime to hear someone preach who has written books on Missions. His text is,
“You shall be my witness” Acts 1:8 which is appropriate given Mission: Possible Sunday is Pentecost Sunday.
- May 30th- Rounding out the month Steve and Cindy Davis will give a presentation of their visit to Tim Fearer in Turkey.

The Mission Commission is excited to be presenting Mission: Possible 2010. We are confident that the congregation will share in our excitement and throughout the month feel the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
