By Faith We Build
As we approach the Spring of 2009, it is hard to imagine how much we have accomplished since our By Faith We Build Kick off Service and Congregational Luncheon on May 6, 2007. That celebration yielded a commitment of $2,095,000.00 from our Congregation towards our By Faith We Build construction campaign.
Since then our Steering and Bridge Committee has been the driving force behind a host of committees, Church family members and talented professionals who have moved this project through the responsibilities and events that have made it the success that it is. From the beginning the Transition Team has overseen the relocation and temporary placement of every function, committee and event that affects our church’s life. Our Steering and Bridge Committee has overseen this project in the navigation of necessary construction permits, contractor selection, communication to Session, Congregation and community, along with temporary storage and relocation of Sunday services. We are so pleased with all that has been done, with minimal disruption.
We began actual renovations and construction in June, 2008, immediately following our Congregational Ground-Breaking Ceremony. There we recognized all those intricately involved in this project, our Church family’s contributions and professional partners. We followed this very special and historical event with a Luncheon, in Fellowship Hall.
Since July, 2008 our Church Family has been kept informed of all construction updates through weekly Bulletin articles, announcements, the Good News, and PowerPoint presentations.
As of January, 2009, we have received a total of $1,280,547.00 in pledge contributions. We have approximately 61 % of committed dollars. Additional non-pledge contributions have amounted to $112,634.00 , leaving our total pledge and non-pledge contributions to be $1,393,181.00 , through mid-February, 2009. As our By Faith We Build construction moves to completion it becomes even more critical that we all honor our pledges in a timely manner so that we are not required to seek other financial support. Since the beginning we have prayed, planned, executed and been fiscally responsible. We have much to be proud of! For our project to reach its expected financial goal we all need to remember to honor our commitment. Our Church is where we worship, share fellowship and have Christ’s love meet our lives.
Thank you for your continued commitment.
