India Outreach Kids
India Outreach Ministries

India Outreach Ministries (IOM) supports an orphanage, called “Happy Home” in India through The Evangelical Churches of India (ECI). The home has a capacity for 40 children which currently has 33 children residing there.  As of 2010, FPCOM supports five (5) children.  They are: M. Dhinesh, S. Mathan, S. Yuvaraj, A. Senthilraja, and B. Sathyamurthy.

Happy Home is a Christian orphanage that offers each child the opportunity to know Jesus Christ and accept Jesus as his/her savior.  Children range in age six (6) through eighteen (18).  They are encouraged to cooperate, share, and care for each other (older ones help the younger children with their studies etc).

Some of the children have been at the home for almost ten years.  They can stay until they graduate from school, and if they qualify, they can go on to The Evangelical Church of India’s (ECI) college and seminary schools.

Almost all of the children have a living relative; parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle but due to extreme poverty, their adult relatives cannot afford to keep their children.  The cost per child per year is $240, which covers: their room and board, medical needs, clothes, tuition to the private school in Salem (where they receive a very good education) and books.

A typical day for the children consists of rising early (6:00 AM), getting dressed, having breakfast, do some chores, have daily devotions and then off to school.  When returning home, they do their homework, enjoy some free time, dinner, more free time or a special event before bed.

Through India Rural Evangelical Fellowship (IREF) and Evangelical Churches of India (ECI), IOM not only supports Happy Home orphanage but also HIV/AIDS education, counseling and medical treatment in clinics that care for more than 100 patients per day, church planting, education for children as well as offering emergency assistance due to natural disasters.

Copies of the letters from the five children we are supporting in “Happy Home” will be posted on the Mission bulletin board (outside Fellowship Hall) during the month of October.
