Schedule of Upcoming Construction Activities
As the summer begins, the Jersey Shore area begins to bubble with the tourist season and relaxed vacationers. There is quite a different atmosphere at our Church! We are bubbling with construction and renovation! Our capital project is in full swing as we continue to look forward to the following milestones in the process:
AUGUST
Week of August 4: Update on stained glass windows (removed in July). They were sent to Minnesota for repair. Estimated return - January, 2009
Week of August 10: Removed the organ pipes and equipment and transported to the storage facility. Poured concrete for the basement footers in the church basement. Completed the underground storm drainage system. Continued demolition in the church.
JULY
Sunday, July 6: This will be the final service, in the Sanctuary until the completion of renovations.
Beginning Monday, July 7: The asbestos floor removal will take place in the C.E. building.
Starting Tuesday, July 8: The pews will be coming out of the sanctuary.
Wednesday, July 9: The stained glass, in the sanctuary, will be removed
Saturday, July 12 at 9 AM: We have another major move planned, of Church belongings. Tom Henderson, and team, are looking for all able-bodied individuals who are willing to lend a hand, back, arm and feet to help out with the move! Call the church office at (732) 223-4627 for more information.
Sunday, July 13: Begins all three services held in the Christian Ed Building and then at the Algonquin Theater. We will keep you posted as to the location of services in the Bulletin, on the Church website and through announcements.
Monday, July 14: The lead ceiling removal in the Church basement will begin.
Week of July 21: Demolition of the basement floor, in the Church, took place. Demolition of overflow room and upstairs rooms, in Sanctuary continued. Site Contractor continued installation of underground drainage pipes in Church parking lot.
Week of July 27: Removed friable asbestos in Church basement electrical room. Installed additional underground piping in Church parking lot.
JUNE
Thursday, June 12: Items from Marcello’s office, the Bell Room and the Associate Pastor’s office will be moved to the Christian Ed building, or into temporary storage.
Week of June 15: Contractor mobilization will begin.
Week of June 23: Demolition will begin in Church basement.
